Processor
Removing the processor
CAUTION:
In a single processor configuration, the single processor must be installed in the
Processor0 socket (see page 13 for location).
ESD protection must be worn during the procedure to avoid damaging the components.
To remove the processor:
1.
Power down the server and detach all of the power cords from the power supplies.
2.
Remove the access panel (on page 37).
3.
Remove the heat sink (on page 29).
4.
Press downward and inward on the right processor locking lever to release it.
5.
Press downward and inward on the left processor locking lever, pulling it fully open.
6.
Lift the processor load plate to the fully open position.
