Safety
Considerations
The
Model
tunable
laser
source
is
a
Class
1
instrument
(that
is

an
instrument
with
an
exposed
metal
chassis
directly
connected
to
earth
via
the
power
supply
cable).

protective
earth
terminal
in
the
instrument
is

Before
operation,
you
should

instrument
and
manual,

for
safety
markings
and
instructions
.

operation

Initial
Inspection
Inspect
the
shipping
container
for
damage
.
If
there
is
damage
to
the
container
or
cushioning,
you
should
keep
them
until
you
have
checked
the
contents
of
the
shipment
for
completeness
and
veried
the
instrument
both
mechanically
and
electrically
.
The
Function
T
est
gives
a
procedure
for
checking
the
operation
of
the
instrument.
If
the
contents
are
incomplete
,
mechanical
damage
or
defect
is
apparent,
or
if
an
instrument
does
not
pass
the
operator's
checks
,
notify
the
nearest
Hewlett-P
ackard
oce
.
