Status

Provides information about the entry and why it is in the table. Possible values are the following:
•

Learned

—The address has been automatically learned by the switch and can age out when it

is not in use. Dynamic addresses are learned by examining information in incoming Ethernet
frames.

•

Management

—The burned-in MAC address of the switch.

•

Self

—The MAC address belongs to one of the physical interfaces on the switch.

•

Other

—The address was added dynamically through an unidentified protocol or method.

•

Unknown

—The switch is unable to determine the status of the entry.
