NOTICE
Corrosion damage to the system and venting
pro blems are frequently caused during refill
-
ing and topping up of the system. The odour
trap on the condensate drain must be filled
with water.
4.3
Venting the gas pipe
Open the gas shut-off valve and vent the gas line up to
the gas fitting, observing the relevant specifications.
4.4
Switching on
Commission the boiler as instructed by the detailed oper-
ating instructions provided.
4.5
Gas inlet pressure
The gas flow pressure and the energy content of the gas
in the connection line must achieve the values specified
If the natural gas flow pressure is below 18 or above
50 mbar, setting and commissioning must not take place.
If a reduction in water hardness is necessary we recom-
mend a complete desalination (no softening) with bypass,
so that the sum of the alkaline-earths in the filling water
re mains of approx. 0,5 mol/m
3
. During the filling procedu-
re the conductance of the filling water should be moni
-
tored. This should be to approx. 100 µS/cm.
After filling, the conductance of the system water should
be between 50 and 200 µS/cm. The pH value will thus
start at 6,5 - 7,5 and settle at 8,0 - 8,5 after a few weeks.
If this is not the case, call in a specialist company to treat
the water. Once the correct pH value has been set by
in hi bitors that are suitable for aluminium materials, this
should also involve regular checks of the inhibitor concen-
tra tion and the pH value.
4.2.3 Filling the system
- Both old and new systems must be professionally
clean ed and flushed before filling.

Filling for the first time or refilling the system: The requi-
re ments for the filling and replacement water according
to 4.2.2 must be met. The maximum quantity of water
(sum of filling and replacement water) added to the heat
ge nerating system over its service life must not be high-
er than three times the specified filling quantity.
Example: maximum filling quantity (as in table 1) 1600 l,
maximum filling and replacement water quantity over
servi ce life 4800 l.

WARNING
Before commissioning, the siphon must be
fil led with water to prevent flue gas leakage.
Installation of a strainer in the boiler return is
re commended.

The system must be filled slowly via the filling and drain
cock on the boiler and with the radiators open. Do not clo-
se the air-bleeding valves until only water emerges.
