Adjusting the wing preload
The wings are preloaded hydraulically.
The preload pressure is removed at the headland,
when lifting the coulter and the cultivation tools.
The preload pressure builds up again as soon
as the job computer receives a working signal
while the drilling function and a speed signal
are enabled.
During use in the field, the wings can give way
toward the top and bottom thus adapting to the
ground.
¾
The required preload depends on the soil
conditions.
Adjust the preload on the valve and check it
on the pressure gauge.
¾
Secure the setting nut with the locking nut.
Preload valve on the right frame
WARNING
Risk of accident from unauthorised starting of
the tractor and triggering of machine movements
¾
Shut off the tractor before any adjustment
tasks and secure it against reactivation. Lock
manual control units in the locked position.
Pneumatic system
The pneumatic system consists of
•
Fan
•
Hopper
•
one or several metering units, depending on
the design
•
Distributor towers.
WARNING
Risk from hazardous dust (fertiliser, dressing).
¾
Always wear suitable protective clothing
(safety goggles, respiratory masks, protective
gloves) for cleaning and maintenance work.
Fan
The hydraulic fan is directly driven by the tractor
hydraulics.
The generated air flow conveys the seed from
the fall sluices to the coulters. The required air
quantity depends on seed (type and weight),
seed quantity, working width and sowing speed.
A correct fan speed cannot be specified and
must therefore be determined by trials in the
field.
Please note:
•
The air flow should not be too high, so that
no seed or fertiliser will be blown out of the
seed furrow.
•
However, the air flow must also not be too
weak, so that no seed or fertiliser will remain in
the hoses and cause blockage. The fan speed
should therefore be set as high as possible.
