Pneumatic system
The pneumatic system consists of
•
Fan
•
Hopper
•
Metering unit
•
Distributor tower
WARNING
Risk from hazardous dust (fertiliser, dressing)
on the components of the pneumatic system
¾
Always wear suitable protective clothing
(safety goggles, respiratory masks, protective
gloves) for cleaning and maintenance work.
NOTE
¾
Fan setting, seed transport and seed place-
ment must be checked on all coulters when
starting sowing and also at regular intervals
when working on large areas.
Fan
CAUTION
Risk of injury on the fan
¾
Do not touch hydraulic components that have
become hot during operation.
¾
Operate the fan only while the protective grille
is mounted.
¾
Perform maintenance work on the fan and
opening of the protective grille only while the
machine is at a standstill.
The hydraulic fan is directly driven by the tractor
hydraulics.
The generated air flow conveys the seed from
the fall sluices to the coulters. The required air
quantity depends on seed (type and weight),
seed quantity, working width and sowing speed.
A correct fan speed cannot be specified and
must therefore be determined by trials in the
field.
¾
Refer to the sticker on the machine as refer-
ence values for the correct fan speed:

Please note
•
To control the speed, the control unit in the
tractor must be equipped with a flow control
valve.
•
The air flow must not be too high, so that no
seed or fertiliser will be blown out of the seed
furrow.
•
However, the air flow must also not be too
weak, so that no seed or fertiliser will remain in
the hoses and cause blockage. The fan speed
should therefore be set as high as possible.
