OPERATION:
Top Housing
A CN70 top housing includes the plastic housing, keypad, antenna(s), LED light pipe, and cell speaker. None of
these items can be individually replaced as they are bonded and heat staked at the factory in order to achieve the IP67
rating for the product. The top housing must be replaced as a complete unit. When selecting a CN70 top housing you
must select the correct part number based on keypad type and if the unit has a WAN radio or is WiFi only.
There are two styles of keypads that have been used to produce top housing assemblies. Original production
used a conductive puck style (shown at left in picture below). Current production uses a plunger style (shown at right
in picture below). Units should be repaired with the style of keypad they were built with. Do not swap a conductive
puck style top housing with a plunger style housing unless you are also replacing the keyboard PCB assembly to
match it.
