TRANSMISSION OIL
OIL LEVEL INSPECTION
NOTE
•
The oil level cannot be correctly measured if the motorcycle is not supported perfectly upright on a
level surface.
•
As the oil is gradually consumed, it is necessary to periodically check the oil level and replenish the
oil volume to its proper level.
•
If the oil level is too high, overall engine performance and the actuation of the clutch may be effected.
Too little oil may cause engine overheating as well as premature wear to various parts.
•
If a different brand or grade of oil or low quality oil is mixed when adding oil, the lubricating function
deteriorates.
Start the engine and let it idle for a several minutes.
Stop the engine and wait 2 - 3 minutes.
If the engine must be running to do some
work, make sure the area is well ventilated.
Never run the engine in an enclosed area.
