MECHANICAL SEAL INSPECTION 

Remove the lower cowl  (page 2-5) 
 
Inspect the telltale hole for signs of coolant leakage. 
 
If there is leakage, the mechanical seal is defective 
and must be replaced  (page 6-1)

Remove the side cowl and lower cowl. 
Drain the coolant. 
 
Loosen the screw and hose band. 
Disconnect the lower radiator hose.
