DRIVING
While the power system is on, the vehicle will automatically precondition
inside the vehicle.
When it is warm outside:
• The climate control system is activated in auto mode.
When it is cold outside:
• The defroster is activated at a moderately warm temperature.
• The rear defogger and door mirror heaters are activated.
• The seat heaters* and heated steering wheel* are activated.

Stopping the Power System
Press and hold the button.
The power system will also stop if it has been running for more than 10
minutes or if any door is opened without using the smart entry remote.
Engine exhaust contains toxic carbon monoxide gas.
Breathing carbon monoxide can kill you or cause unconsciousness.
Never use the remote engine starter when the vehicle is parked in a
garage or other area with limited ventilation.

Starting to Drive
Turn on the vehicle and start the engine to begin driving.

Before Starting the Power System
Make sure the parking brake is applied. Depress the brake pedal. Keep your
foot firmly on the brake pedal when starting the power system.
The power system is harder to start in cold weather and in thinner air found
at altitudes above 8,000 feet (2,400 m). When starting the power system in
cold weather, turn off all electrical accessories such as the lights, climate
control system, and rear defogger in order to reduce battery drain.

Press the
POWER
button once without pressing
the brake pedal for
ACCESSORY
mode. Press it again for
ON
mode.
Starting the engine:
Press and hold
the brake pedal, then press the
POWER
button. Keep your foot firmly
on the brake pedal when starting the
engine.
Turning the vehicle off:
Press the Park (P) button or apply the parking brake,
then press the
POWER
button. If you press the button and the vehicle is not
in Park (P), the vehicle goes into
ACCESSORY
mode.

Changing the Power Mode
Use the
POWER
button to cycle through power modes or start the engine.
VEHICLE OFF
(LOCK)
The button is
off. The power
to all electrical
components is
turned off.
ACCESSORY

Operate the audio
system and other
accessories in this
