Seats and Restraints
Warning (Continued)
require children to be seated in
approved child restraints. Holden
strongly recommends that you
refer to your specific State or
Territory regulations to determine
which child restraint is suitable for
your child.
Children should be restrained at all
times when travelling in a vehicle.
Always ensure that the seat belt fits
firmly around the child restraint.
If a child cannot see out of the
window, do not raise him/her by
means of an ordinary cushion. It will
not stay in place in a collision and
the child can slip out of the straps
and become entangled.
{
Warning
Child restraint anchorages are
designed to withstand only those
loads imposed by correctly fitted
child restraints. Under no
circumstances are they to be
used for adult seat belts,
harnesses or for attaching other
items or equipment to the vehicle.
Only child restraints that have
clips to attach to the vehicle's
anchorage fitting are to be used.
Earlier types of child restraints
may not attach securely to this
type of anchor.
Only Standards Australia
approved child restraints and
harnesses should be used. You
should only purchase a child
restraint which carries the
appropriate Standards Australia
sticker of approval.

Warning (Continued)
Always follow the child restraint
manufacturer's fitting instructions
when installing a child restraint
into the vehicle.
Selecting the Right System
The rear seats are the most
convenient location to fasten a child
restraint system. Children should
travel facing rearwards in the
vehicle as long as possible. This
makes sure that the child's
backbone, which is still very weak,
is under less strain in the event of
an accident.
Ensure that the child restraint
system to be installed is compatible
with the vehicle type.
Ensure that the mounting location of
the child restraint system within the
vehicle is correct.
Allow children to enter and exit the
vehicle only on the side facing away
from the traffic.
