2. Comissioning
In this chapter you will learn how to get your XF3 Adventure ready to ride.
First you should inflate the tires. The recommended air pressure can be found in
section 3.1.
2.1. Mounting the pedals
The right pedal has a right-hand thread and the left pedal has a left-hand
thread on the pedal axle. The right pedal is screwed clockwise and the left
pedal is screwed anticlockwise.
For installation, proceed as follows:
• Grease the thread of the pedal axle and the crank sparingly.
• First screw the pedal in loosely by hand. If this does not work, try screwing in
the second pedal.
• Tighten the pedal to 30 to 35 Nm of torque with a suitable Allen wrench.
2.2. Straighten the stem
This point should only be considered if you have received your XF3 Ad-
venture with twisted handlebars.
• Loosen both side screws (1) on the stem
with an Allen key.
• Turn the stem so that it is parallel to the
front wheel.
• Clamp the stem onto the steerer tube by
tightening both side bolts with 5-6 Nm.

The stem is a safety relevant component. Observe the recommended
tightening torques Otherwise there is a risk of accidents!
