Block noise appears during playback
Block noise may appear in the following cases. This is not a
malfunction.
• The original picture has block noise
• Reception environment deteriorates due to bad weather
• If the programme is recorded in lower recording quality mode (e.g.
EP), block noise tends to appear.
• Picture processing cannot work properly depending on the
picture.
• Built-in HDD may cause physical error.
There may be malfunction if excess block noise is visible if there is
no problem with the recording mode or recorded contents.

Block noise appears or picture stops
during playback of the programme

• In lower recording quality mode, because of processing for long-
time recording, block noise may appear or picture stops if
recording or playback are in operation in DTT mode in the
following case. This is not malfunction.
• In poor reception
• Reception environment turns poor due to the bad weather
• Receiving external noise
In lower recording quality mode, it is infl uenced by reception
condition more easily.

• In lower recording quality mode, because of processing for long-
time recording, block noise may appear when picture switches or
if the picture containing hard motion is recorded or played. This is
not a malfunction.
