The "Open FTP" menu item allows you to quickly open a direct FTP connection
with a remote Bluetooth device without accessing the Device and Service lists.
However, you must have connected the FTP service previously for the Polaris
MINI to allow you to transfer files. If you have not connected the FTP service, and
you activate this function, the unit announces, "FTP service disconnected".
You can access "Open FTP” by pressing "Enter" on it from within the menu, or by
pressing "Enter-T" directly from the Bluetooth Service List. The Polaris MINI says,
"Connecting service". Detailed information on connecting various service types is
covered later in this chapter.
The "Disconnect" menu item allows you to disconnect services with other
Bluetooth devices. You can access this item by pressing "Enter" on "disconnect"
from within the menu. Or you can activate it directly from the Bluetooth Service
List by pressing "Enter-D".
If there are no services connected and you activate this function, the unit says,
"There is no service connected".
3.3.2.1 Connecting a Service
To authenticate a service and connect to it, press "Enter" on the service. The
Polaris MINI announces, "Connecting service". You are then prompted for a "PIN
code:" You must use ASCII characters when you type the pin code. This edit box
only appears when you have not previously connected to a service, and a pin
code is required by the device. You can exit the edit box or delete text you have
typed by pressing "Space-Z" and you are returned to the Bluetooth Service List.
