Checklist
Pre-staging

Verify site requirements, including:
q
Verify that redundant site power is available.
q
Verify rack air flow.
q
Unpack the fabric modules.
q
Verify equipment delivered.
q
Record the MAC address of the fabric module.
q
Determine the type of installation
q
In an HPE Composable Rack.
q
In another HPE environment.
q
In a non-HPE customer environment.
q
Determine the speed of Composable Fabric you will install
q
10 Gb/s per link
q
25 Gb/s per link
q
Develop a cabling plan and determine cable types and lengths needed.
Installation
q
Install the fabric module(s) in rack(s).
q
Install power cables. The fabric module automatically powers up and boots. Verify green LEDs on
power supplies.
q
Establish a management connection to the fabric module through either the CONSOLE port
or the MGMT port.
q
Install all cables as per the cabling plan and build the fabric using either:
q
FM 1006 interconnect, or
q
Direct connect
q
If needed, for static IP, perform an initial fabric module configuration as described in the document,
HPE Composable Fabric Module Administrator Guide using Linux and CLI.
q
Configure the fabric module and the Composable Fabric using the Composable Fabric Manager UI
as described in
HPE Composable Fabric Manager UI Online Help
q
