Electrical connection
The electrical connection should only be established by an
electrician.
Important!
In the case of PM motors, observe the operating instructions
included in delivery!
Warning!
An incorrectly established electrical
connection can result in death.
Connect according to DIN VDE 0100.
The earth, neutral connection, fault current protection circuit,
etc. must
- correspond to the directives of the local public utility com-
pany (PUC) and
- function flawlessly according to the electrician's inspec-
tion.
The cross-section and voltage drop of the feed line must
comply with the respective regulations.
Caution!
Incorrect warming will damage the
three-phase motor.
Maintain the voltage tolerance of ± 10%
according to DIN EN 60034-1.
Warning!
Electric current can result in death.
Provide equipotential bonding between
the filter casing and building earth.
5.5
Motor protection
Use a motor circuit breaker or adequate motor protection with
a tripping characteristic according to DIN VDE 0660.
Accommodate the integrated temperature monitors (e.g.
PTC thermistor) in the motor control circuits in such a way
that if the temperature monitor responds it results in switch-
ing off the motor.
Important!
The motor protection switch should be
- regulated for nominal motor current during direct start-
ing,
- introduced into the delta link for star-delta starting and set
to maximum 0.58-times the nominal current.
The standard versions of the motors from 5.5 kW and mo-
tors of the UNIBAD-XC and UNIBAD-PM types ex works
have a PTC thermistor (see Section 5.7.1, PTC Thermistor
Connection).

Direction of rotation check
Make sure you check the direction of rotation during the initial
commissioning procedure and also at each new installation
location of three-phase pumps. An incorrect direction of
rotation results in decreased pump power output and can
damage the pump.
