4.2.2 Foot switch
The foot switch is used to acquire images. Its function is identical to pressing the ‘Acquire’ button
of the touch panel.
4.2.3 Keyboard
To use the Heidelberg Retina Angiograph 2 operation software, you need the computer keyboard
in order to enter text and to control certain software functions. In the second case, function keys
and special keys are often used. In this operation manual, the function keys are identified as 'F1',
'F2', etc.
4.2.4 Mouse
The Heidelberg Retina Angiograph 2 operation software is controlled via a graphical user inter-
face (menu). For interaction, use your computer's mouse. To select a specific menu field, use the
mouse to move the pointer to the field and press the left mouse button.
4.2.5 Focus knob
The knob at the backside of the camera head changes
the focus. By turning this knob refractive errors of
the patients eye can be compensated for. The current
focus compensation is always shown at the lower left
side of the PC acquisition module screen; units are
diopters.
When examining a patient, set the focus compensa-
tion roughly to the patient’s spherical equivalent re-
fraction and then turn the focus knob until you get a
sharp image.
Keep in mind that the refraction for blue and infrared
light differs slightly. Therefore, it is recommended to
readjust the focus compensation when changing from
red free or FA to infrared or ICGA mode or vice
versa.
4.2.6 Filter Lever
By changing the position of this lever at the left side
of the camera head the fluorescence filter is activated
or deactivated. In the position marked by
A
the fluo-
rescence angiography modes (FA, ICGA) are avail-
able, in the position marked by
R
only reflectance
modes (IR, RF) are available.
