6.2 Image Processing
6.2.1 Computing Composite Images
The software is able to automatically combine an unlimited number of images to a single wide
angle image composite. You can apply this operation directly on a movie symbol, or an arbitrary
selection of single images.
After you have selected the images, choose 'Compute Composite' from the right mouse button
context menu to start the automatic computation of the composite image. Please be patient, de-
pending on the number of selected images and on the performance of your computer system, the
image processing may take up to several minutes,
When the calculation is ready, the software will display the resulting image and will appended
this image at the end of the examination.
If you want to remove all source images after computation of the composite, it is necessary to
compute the composite images
before
you archive the image data for this examination.
To acquire the images, it is recommended to set the image frame rate to 2 imgs/sec (using the '+'
and '-' keys while the live image is on screen). To start the image acquisition, press the 'series'
button on the control panel. While the camera is taking images (two per second), move the cam-
era over the retina. The following moving pattern is recommended:
