Final notes on HAPP 95 -----READ ME FIRST-----
Column inspection (before standing columns up)
The nylon guides and column in the HAPP 90 have been made to fit neatly with tight tolerances,
they can be sensitive to any rough surfaces and lack of lubrication during initial break in with light
loads on the hoist. This is possible in the C section at inside of the column as powder coating can
cause roughness due to the tight shape that effects powder coating. Whilst this process is being
inspected currently it is best to check this during installation.
The columns must be inspected prior to installation and any rough surfaces in the contact
surface of the column to the nylon guides in front and rear of the carriage are removed and that
lubrication is supplied to contact surfaces.
If this process is not followed and lubrication is not applied it is unlikely but possible that this
friction can prevent the hoist carriage from lowering with light vehicles. Typically, the cleaning
process only involves using emery paper or equivalent sanding paper to smooth the column
surface. Whilst this is a simple step, it is definitely worth being performed as a preventative
measure.
Electrical wiring
Follow electrical wiring notes in this manual
Bleeding the system
If the carriages are not lifting evenly it is possible you have an air lock in the system or incorrect
oil volumes in the oil lines. Normally the air is purged past the oil seal but sometimes it gets
trapped in the system. When air bleeds from system it creates an imbalance in oil volumes
across columns which causes uneven lifting.
To bleed the system and balance oil lines read section 8 of this manual.
Oil grade
The hoist will need 10 liters of Castrol HYSPIN 68 grade oil, this is available from most
Automotive shops and resellers.
Anchor Bolts
Shipments of HAPP 95 will come with different anchor bolts depending on the batch. Typically
this is 20mm Tru bolts. Tru bolts present a thread up through the hoist plate where a nut and
washer are added to fix the baseplate. They require a 20mm hole.
Optionally, Loxons embed a nut into the concrete and are connected to by a bolt with washer that
connects down through the baseplate, the HAPP Loxons require a 24mm hole. They are not as
strong as Tru bolts however.
