imbalance in oil volumes across columns which must be rectified to get the carriages lifting more evenly.
Never work on a vehicle unless the safety latches are engaged at the same level on both sides. Never
leave vehicles on hydraulic lift (not on safety) for extended periods. If you are storing vehicles, ensure
you put a secondary safety under your carriage to the base plate when the hoist is at the desired storage
height (steel section or equivalent) for added peace of mind.
After you finish working on the vehicle you raise the hoist up approximately 60mm then release the
safety latches on each column by pulling the small cable protruding out the bottom of the carriage.
These latches will remain disengaged until you start to raise the hoist again. You will be able to notice
this by the ‘clunk’ noise of the latches occurring again when you lift.
Make sure you have cleared the safeties before disengaging. Failure to clear one safety lock and lowering
may create an imbalance in oil volumes across columns which must be rectified immediately and can be
tricky to restore, if you do this take care and reverse your actions to return balance to carriages.
8.2 Oil lines
The control block is mounted on the rear of the trolley with the oil line leaving the side of the pump as
shown below. If your pump has its outlet on the other side, swap the fitting to be the same as shown.
Also ensure all fittings are firm. Oil is best added with the small funnel as shown. The funnel pictured
has a small piece of electrical wire holding the funnel to the motor allowing easy filling and easy return
of oil to the reservoir when bleeding and balancing oil lines.

Customers sometimes make custom oil line installations where oil lines are of different length ( fitting
pump assemblies on walls, routing hoses through roof etc.) which requires extra work to setup oil lines,
most times the oil lines just work out of the box as the lines are of common length and cylinders are fully
bottomed out when installing. The following information is provided to cater for those having to
synchronize oil lines. A difference of 10mm in oil volume can generate a lifting variation of approximately
10mm. This simple process should be followed before using the hoist.
Also note that any air in between the control block and the pump assembly oil pump and oil in the oil
tank can be passed into oil lines unevenly which is then passed through the oil line to cylinder and out
past the seals, which causes uneven oil volumes between columns. Oil volumes in tank should be high
