ing zone will not switch off the function.
■
Select another heating level to switch
off the function.
The suitable heat setting
The following list shows which heating set-
tings are suitable for which use. The precise
setting depends, however, on various factors,
such as the type of cookware and the quantity
of food. For this reason, variations are pos-
sible.
1–2: Careful heating of small amounts of
food. Melting chocolate, butter and
sensitive foods.
Light simmering/boiling.
Warming up slowly.
3–4: Reheating food.
Continuous cooking. Cooking rice.
5–6: Roasting. Sautéing.
Cooking pancakes.
7–8: Searing meat.
9/P: Rapid searing. Deep-frying.
Bringing water/soup to the boil.
Residual heat indicators
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
If a power failure occurs, the residual
heat indicators will go out and may not
indicate the presence of residual heat.
■
Do not touch the cooking zones after
a power failure.
During cooking processes,
the heat from the pot is
transferred to the glass ce-
ramic surface of the cook-
ing zone, and the cooking
zone becomes hot. The residual heat indica-
tors show which surfaces are hot to protect
you from burns. The
H
symbol indicates which
of the cooking zones are hot.
The corresponding residual heat indicator
will light up as soon as the cooking zone has
reached approx. 50 °C when heating up.
After switching off the cooking zone or the
hob, the residual heat indicator will light up as
long as the cooking zone is still hot. You can
therefore still use residual heat.
If the temperature of the glass ceramic surface
falls below a certain value (approx. 65 °C), the
“
H
” indicator will go out and show “
-
”.
