Cleaning and maintaining the
hob
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
Improper handling may lead to burns.
■
Allow the cooking zones to cool com-
pletely before cleaning. Exception: If
you would like to remove food resi-
dues containing sugar or starch, plas-
tic or aluminium foil (see below).
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
■
For cleaning purposes, do not use
any harsh cleaning agents or scour-
ing powders, steel wool, oven sprays,
steam cleaners or high-pressure
cleaners! They can damage the sur-
face. High-pressure cleaners can
cause a short circuit.
• Clean and maintain the hob regularly
with a special care product containing a
special impregnating oil for glass ceramic
hobs. Such products can be found in spe-
cialist shops.
Slight soiling which is not burnt on
• After the appliance has cooled, use a
damp cloth with no cleaning agent to wipe
away dirt. Then dry the surface with a soft
cloth to prevent lime stains.
• Light-coloured stains with a pearly tint
(aluminium residues, e.g. from alumin-
ium foils) can be easily removed with a
cleaning agent specially designed for this
purpose and available from specialist
dealers.
Hard, baked-on dirt
• Tough stains can be most easily removed
after cooling using a blade scraper.
Cleaning agents designed especially for
this purpose can also be found in special-
ist shops.
Finally, wipe the surface with a damp cloth.
• Treat the hob with a special care product
after cleaning.
Remove soiling with food residues
containing sugar or starch, plastic
or aluminium foil.
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
■
Food residues containing sugar or
starch as well as residues of plastics
or aluminium foils must be removed
immediately. Otherwise, these may
cause permanent and irreparable
damage to the hob.
• Put protection on your hands before
cleaning, for example, oven mitts to pro-
tect against burns. Then use the blade
scraper to remove the dirt from hot glass
ceramic.
• Once the hob has cooled down, you can
remove residues using a specially de-
signed cleaning product which is available
from specialist shops.
• Treat the hob with a special care product
after cleaning.
