2.3 Particular hazards
Before removing a pressure relief valve from the pipe,
the system upstream of the valve
must be completely depressurised
to prevent the medium from escaping the pipe
uncontrolled.
Before removing an overflow safety valve from the pipe,
the system on both sides of
the safety valve must be completely depressurised
to prevent the medium from escap-
ing the pipe uncontrolled.
When two safety valves are installed to provide redundancy (duplicate), with a changeover
valve permitting either to be used, the union of the inoperative safety valve must be
unscrewed with care, since a small quantity of refrigerant will escape.
Watch out for
residues which could drain out of the pipe
or be left in the
pressure
relief valve
(e.g. refrigerator oil).
In use with flammable refrigerant the current engineer standards and regulations have
to be considered while installation the part in the device.
The response point of a safety/overflow valve has been set by the manufacturer accord-
ing the purchaser's requirements and is monitored by DEKRA. The cap and lead seal on
these valves must remain in the condition in which they are delivered.
If the DEKRA seal is damaged, the warranty of the manufacturer,
HANSA Automotive GmbH, will automatically expire.
