SmartServe™ must be sanitized before daily use.
1. Wash SmartServe™ following instructions in

“General Cleaning” on page 8.

2.  Sanitize using 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) of

bleach per 1 gallon (3.8 liter) of clean, cool

water (60°F [16°C]), mixed according to

the instructions on the bleach. (If using a

sanitizing solution other than bleach, test the

concentration using commercial test strips.

Concentration levels should be between 100

and 200 parts per million of bleach to water.)

3.  Turn ON (I) by pressing the Power Switch

under the Control Panel on the right side.

4.  Insert cup filled with sanitizing solution.

Close Door.

  For MIC only:
  • Remove thumbscrews.

  5.  Run any preprogrammed cycle (using the 1–3

and A–C buttons). DO NOT OPEN DOOR!

    For MIC only:

•  At end of cycle when Cup Shield moves

upward, slide the Door Assembly toward

you slightly to pause the cycle.

•  Use Sanitizing Syringe to inject 60 ml of

sanitizing solution into the Sanitizing Port.

Remove Sanitizing Syringe and set aside.

•  Wait 2 minutes or appropriate sanitizing

time.

•  Replace Door Assembly and thumbscrews.

Cycle will now finish and return Cup Shield

to the highest position.

6.  After appropriate sanitizer time, remove cup

and pour contents down the drain.

7.  Allow the equipment to rinse.

For MIC only:

•  Press the RINSE button.

NOTE: If this is done at end of day, turn OFF ( )

and remove Door Assembly to allow parts to

dry fully.

1. Place cup in Cup Holder, close Door, and

press START button.

2.  Splash Shield lowers and SmartServe™ begins

to blend drink.

3.  If a different setting is desired, open Control

Panel Cover if needed and press the choices

using the 1–3 and A–C buttons. Display will

show the buttons that are lit.

4.  Press START. Display shows “BLENDING . . .”

NOTE: In some models starting with “BIC,” a

second START button is found on the bottom

front of the machine. Pressing this button also

starts the blending process.

NOTE: Text on screens may vary depending on

model number.

  5.  When cycle ends, the Splash Shield raises

back up and the Display shows “BLEND

COMPLETE – PLEASE RINSE.” DO NOT

OPEN DOOR UNTIL THE SPLASH SHIELD

HAS RETURNED TO THE HOME POSITION.

6.  Remove cup. Close the Door. The Splash

Shield will lower into Wash Chamber. Rinsing

cycle runs for a predetermined time period

and Splash Shield raises. Display will show

“RINSE COMPLETE.” DO NOT OPEN DOOR

UNTIL THE SHIELD HAS RETURNED TO THE

HOME POSITION.
