5.11.3 Changing the rotary brush
In the case of wear down to a minimum
bristle length of 35 mm, the rotary brush
must be changed. The rotary brush can
be accessed from the left-hand side
(driving direction) and is disassembled
as follows:
1. Park the vehicle on a level piece of
ground.
2. Lower the rotary brush and move the
rotary brush pressure control lever
(Fig. 4/9) to its bottom position.
3. Switch the engine off and actuate the
parking brake.
4. Open the left-hand brush door.
5. Remove the palm grip (Fig. 21/8)
and pull out the rotary brush holder
(Fig. 21/6).
6. Pull out the rotary brush (Fig. 21/5)
7. Install the new rotary brush in the re-
verse sequence. The rotary brush
lug (Fig. 21/7) (on the inside) must
engage in the drive.
8. When assembling the rotary brush
holder, the two guide pins must also
engage in the slots in the rotary
brush.
9. Adjust the rotary brush, refer to Sec-
tion 5.11.1
5.11.4 Changing the rotary brush
aprons
Check the rotary brush aprons (Fig. 21/
4) on the side doors and rear rotary
brush section every week for signs of
wear. Replace damaged rotary brush
aprons immediately.
1. Park the vehicle on a level piece of
ground. Switch the engine off and
actuate the parking brake.
2. Open the brush doors.
3. Loosen the holding plates, nuts and
hexagon head bolts and remove the
rotary brush aprons.
4. Install the new rotary brush aprons in
the reverse sequence.
5. During installation, set the distance
of the rotary brush apron to the
ground to approx. 3 mm.
5.11.5 Adjusting the rotary brush
aprons
In cases wear the rotary brush aprons
(Fig. 21/4) are worn and their clearance
to the ground is more than 3 mm, adjust
the rotary brush aprons as follows:
1. Park the vehicle on a level piece of
ground. Switch the engine off and
actuate the parking brake.
2. Open the brush doors.
3. Loosen the nuts and hexagon head
bolts a little and pull the rotary brush
aprons down until they are approx. 3
mm from the ground.
4. Tighten the nuts with the hexagon
head bolts.
