Operation
Voltmeter (Fig. 11/11)
The voltmeter indicates the voltage of
the vehicle's power supply. The normal
value is approx. 14 Volt. If the value
drops below 12 Volt when the engine is
running, check the battery, refer to
Chapter Maintenance and Service. If
the indicator does not change although
the battery is in order, switch the engine
off and inform the Hako Service depart-
ment.
Sweepings container safety switch
(Fig. 8/2)
The functions of the sweepings contai-
ner can only be activated when the
safety switch is pressed simultaneous-
ly.
Steering column adjuster (Fig. 8/3)
Pivot the lever down and adjust the
steering column according to require-
ments.
Then press the lever upwards until it
locks in place.
Only drive when the steering
column is locked and only ad-
just the steering wheel when
the vehicle is at a stop!
Ignition starter switch (Fig. 8/4)
It serves to preheat, start and stop the
engine and to prevent unauthorized
use.
0 = engine and electrical system swit-
ched off.
1 = preheat until the control lamp goes
out.
2 = Start.
For reasons of safety, the
Hako-Jonas 1900 is equipped
with a seat contact switch. The
engine can only be started
when the operator is sitting on
the driver's seat. If the seat
contact is broken while the en-
gine is running, the engine is
switched off.
Accelerator, forwards (Fig. 8/4)
It serves to drive forwards and, at the
same time, to control the speed of the
vehicle. If the pedal is released, it auto-
matically returns to its zero position and
the vehicle comes to a stop.
Accelerator, reverse (Fig. 8/5)
It serves to drive backwards and, at the
same time, to control the speed of the
vehicle. If the pedal is released, it auto-
matically returns to its zero position and
the vehicle comes to a stop.
