Door Latch
The door latch is fastened to the front panel by
two locking tabs. The top panel, side panel and
front panel needs to be removed before the latch
can be removed. When the door is open, the
switch will open, interrupting dryer operation.
Operation of the door switch can be checked
by using the Service Mode (see
Service Mode
in the
Diagnostics and Service Information
section of this service guide).
Specific faults associated with the door switch
can initiate Fault Code E8 and/or E9 (see
Fault Codes
in the
Diagnostics and Service
Information
section of this service guide).
Door Latch Removal
1. Because of tight access, the front panel will
need to be removed to remove the latch.
2. Insert ends of needle-nose pliers into holes in
front panel, pressing tabs.
3. Remove door switch assembly by pulling
outward from behind the front panel.

The drum lamp assembly consists of a LED that
comes with its own harness attached. It has a
built in light shield.
The drum lamp will only operate when the dryer
display is active and the door is in the open
position.
Drum Lamp Diagnosing
With an active display and the door open, check
for approximately 5 VDC at the CN3 connector
on the user interface board. If voltage is present,
replace the drum lamp assembly.
Drum Lamp Assembly Removal
1. Remove the control panel, top panel and the
control board assembly mounting bracket.
2. Disconnect the drum light harness from the
user interface board and pull it through to the
inside of the drum.
