4. Pull the switch from the front panel and
disconnect the harness from the switch.
Door Switch
The door switch is fastened to the front panel by
two locking tabs. The control panel, top panel
and control panel mounting bracket needs to
be removed before the switch can be removed.
When the door is open, the switch will open,
interrupting dryer operation.
Operation of the door switch can be checked by
using Service Mode test 4. (t04) (see
Service
Mode
in the
Diagnostics
section of this service
guide).
Specific faults associated with the door switch
can initiate Fault Code E8 or E9 (see
Fault
Codes
in the
Diagnostics and Service
Information
section of this service guide).
Door Switch Removal
1. Remove the control panel, top panel and the
control panel mounting bracket.
2. Using a pocket screw-driver, push unto the lip
of the switch to depress the mounting clip on
one side of the switch.
3. While holding the unclipped side of the switch
outward, use a larger flat-blade screw-driver
to unclip the other side of the switch.
