E. OPERATING THE QUICK-ATTACH SYSTEM
DISCONNECT SOLUTION LINES, ELECTRICAL LINES, AND HYDRAULIC LINES
– Once you
have cleared the lock pin, you will have to disconnect anything that may
be connecting the boom to the machine. This includes solution lines, elec-
trical lines, hydraulic lines, and foamer lines (if equipped).
Make sure that the solution valve is OFF. There will be a small
amount of solution leak out. If it doesn’t stop, or it is excessive, check the
valve switch. If the switch is off, contact Hagie Customer Service for repair
or parts.
A regular STS machine will have six points of disconnection from the
boom: the electrical pigtail on the right hand side of the machine (fig. 4.5E-
1), three hydraulic disconnections on the left hand side of the machine (fig.
4.5E-2), the rear wheel nozzle (solution) on the right side (fig. 4.5E-3, item
1), and the main solution disconnect on the right side of the machine,
above the front wheel (fig. 4.5E-4). If you have the foamer option, there
are two hoses near the electrical pigtail to disconnect (fig. 4.5E-3, item 2)
Remember to use the caps that are provided for the hoses. If there is
not a cap, cover the opening with a plastic bag secured with tape until you
can get a replacement cap from Hagie Customer Service. (See Parts
Manual). Some of the hoses may be connected together to prevent leak-
age. DO NOT attempt to connect different systems!
Once you have disconnected everything, you may slowly back away
from the boom. The lift arms will
stay in their position because of
an automatic block that holds
the pressure in the lift cylinders.
NOTE:
Make sure the solution valves are OFF
before disconnecting solution hoses!
