Appendix A Channel Installation
The QC8500 Series 2 analyzer can be expanded with modular channels and daisy-chain
connections.
Heater controller, valve controller and leak detector signals share one ribbon cable. The
controller cable and power cable connections are made from the new channel to the
adjacent channel. Fiber optic and detector connections are made directly to the
System Unit.
DANGER
Potential Shock Hazard. Turn off the System Unit and disconnect from power
before connecting or disconnecting channels.

New channel installation
To install a new channel:
1.
Turn off and unplug the System Unit.
2.
Use a gentle twisting motion with a screw driver to loosen the panel cover.
3.
Remove the end cover panel on the left (valve) end of the last channel (

End cover panels snap on and off.
4.
Remove the end cover panels on the right (detector) end of all channels and of the
System Unit. All connections are made on this end of the system.
