GEARMOTORS
UT.D 123 rev. 3
14. Table of commissioning checks and operations
* The installation responsible has to verify that safety circuits using control switches and thermostats are on, run properly and switch on at once.
Repeat check procedures:
– at any oil change
– at any exceptional maintenance
– after a continuous stop of 2 or more weeks.

Check
On starting (Categories 2 and 3)
After 24 h and
after one week
(Category 2)
A Oil leaks
(oils seals, joining Visual check
surfaces, plugs, etc)
B External surface
Check by thermometer
temperature
C Noise levels
Sensory check or
preferably by noise-
meter
D Vibrations
Sensory check or
preferably by
accelerometer
E Gear reducer bearings
Check with proper

F Cooling coil
Check by thermometer,
chronometer, volume measurer
(or other instruments)
G Oil/air cooling unit
Check air temperature
by thermometer
Visual check:
– direction of rotation of fan
– oil circulation

Check circulation of
water and oil
I Resistance
Check:
thermometers*
– connections to control
(oil, bearings)
–
devices
– setting of devices
– general
functionality

Check by Watt-meter or
amp-meter
Keep under control for the first 4 h
Temporary check
Keep under control the surface temperature until it reaches a
steady condition and verify that

Read value of temperature on the control device and
verify that it is lower than the established values.
