At the beginning of the operation first the crank (1) must be
mounted and the support plate (2) has to be positioned under
the assembled support leg (3).
The extension of the support leg (3) is made by turning the
crank (1) clockwise. To pull in the support leg (3) it must be
turned counter-clockwise. There are colour marks (4) at the
inner tube of the support leg (3) which signal the achievement
of certain lift heights. The position of these marks is depending
on the application case and is adapted according to the needs.
When the crank (1) is released, the load will maintain in any po-
sition because of the self-locking spindle. When the lift is at ist
maximum (the crank force will rise noticeably) the cranking has
to be stopped, in order to avoid damages of the support leg.

To lift the demanded loads and to simplify the operation the
support leg (1) is additionally provided with a switchable spur
gear (2) with three positions:

high gear:

for extending and retracting the support leg quickly

when it is not loaded.

Neutral position:

gear wheels without contact (necessary for

switch process).

low gear:

for extending and retracting the support leg quickly

when it is loaded.
For switching to high gear pull out the crank handle (3). For
switching to low gear push in the crank handle (3). The neutral
position is in the middle. It could be necessary for switching to
turn the crank (3) through some degrees while pulling or pushing.

Oscillatory or swinging loads can lead to the fact that the self-
locking of the spindle remains not guaranteed. Therefore, an
additional lowering protection exists for these load terms.
After achievement of the desired lift height the locking hook  (1)
has to be positioned into the teeth of its opponent (2). Herewith
a possible lowering of the spindle is prevented. During cranking
the locking mechanism must be out of operation. The locking
mechanism can be inserted only if the support leg is switched in
the switch position ‚low gear‘.

Ensure that the individual corner units are cranked evenly
and simultaneously to prevent any overload of the diffe-
rent corner units.

9. Use oF The loAD TresTles (AT 232888)

In the 232888 levelling device, an additional load trestles is
attached to each support in the area of the locking bolt. This
is used to lift the container by means of ropes as shown in the
following figure:

CAUTIoN!

The maximum permissible load of 45 kN per load frame
must not be exceeded at any time.

9.1 Application

– The load ring should be free movable and must not touch

edges.

– All fittings must be able to move freely in the load shackle.

– Damage of the lifting means caused by sharp edges must be

avoided as well.

– Avoid any shock or jerky loading.

If the load shackle is used in case 1 “β =0° or 90°” (left figure),
the maximum permissible load is at 100%.
