6.1 Start and stop levels
The effective volume of the pit must be so large that the number
of starts does not exceed the maximum permissible number. See
the installation and operating instructions for the pump.
6.2 Installing the pump controller
See the installation and operating instructions for the control
system.
6.2.1 Float switches
If float switches have been selected, they can be fitted on a tube
which can be lifted out of the pit. This ensures easy adjustment of
the float switches.

6.2.2 Pressure transducer
If a pressure transducer is used, install it in a protective pipe in
order to prevent contamination and deposits.
6.2.3 Other types of level control equipment
See the installation and operating instructions for the equipment.
7. Electrical connection
See the installation and operating instructions for the pump and
the control system.
7.1 Installing the cables
Lead the cables for the level switches and the pump into the pit
through a cable entry in the side of the pit.
Fig. 23
Cable entry
Note that the bottom float switch (the stop switch)
must stop the pump before the liquid level in the pit
falls below the minimum level of the pump. See the
installation and operating instructions for the pump.

WARNING
Electric shock
Death or serious personal injury
- The pump or pump controller must be connected
to an external emergency stop.
If the main switch is used as emergency stop, it
must fulfil EN 60204-1, 10.8.4.
DANGER
Electric shock
Death or serious personal injury
- Before starting any work on the product, make
sure that the power supply has been switched off
and that it cannot be accidentally switched on.
Do not install Grundfos control boxes and the free
end of the supply cable inside the pumping station.
When installing or removing the pump, make sure
not to pinch or damage the cables.
Adjust the length of the power cable by coiling it up
on a relief fitting to ensure that the cable are not
damaged during operation. Fasten the relief fitting to
a suitable hook at the top of the pit.
Make sure that the cable is not sharply bent or
pinched.
When the pump and cables have been installed,
suspend the cables in such a way that any stress is
relieved from the cables.
