Running the Configurator
The Configurator will then start the discovery process and display any Advance
controllers found on the network. This discovery process uses IPv6 so any controllers
on the physical network will be found.
Total number of controllers that have been found on the network. Specific controllers
can also be searched for by name. The order controllers are displayed can be changed
by using the Sort By option.
Each NEW controller is identified by its unique serial number. You can check this
against the label on the controller itself.
At the bottom of the dialog are the following options:
Install
This is used to add the controllers
and line headers to the system, it is
also used to configure RS-485 only
controllers, all controllers must be
initially configured via IP.
Replace
This is used to allow a controller to
be swapped, so that all the Janus
C4 settings and connections for the
controller are preserved, while the
physical hardware can be swapped
Configure
Allows the controller to be named
and to add doors, readers, input and
outputs to the controller
Diagnostics
Displays information about the
network settings and application /
firmware versions
Globals
Allows the creation of time tables and
card formats
Settings
Allows the enabling of the advance
settings for configuring the devices
(readers, doors, input, outputs). The
advance setting allows additional
attribute options to configure the
devices.
