Replacing Battery
The Model T27577 features a V-nail depth indica-
tor light on the worktable. The light should illumi-
nate when the V-nail is driven to the proper depth
using the top clamp foot pedal (see
Identification
on
Page 3). If the light eventually stops illuminat-
ing, the battery likely needs to be replaced.
The indicator light uses a 9V battery for power.
To replace the battery, remove and properly dis-
card the old battery from the battery case located
below the work table (see
Figure 33), and then
insert a new battery in its place.

Battery Installed
The indicator light illuminates when the proper
V-nail depth has been reached (see
V-Nail Size
& Placement on Page 12). Over time, the depth
indicator screw may need to be re-adjusted to
properly contact the limit switch controlling the
indicator light. This will likely be the problem if
illuminator light fails to work and you have already
replaced the battery.
Another sign that the indicator screw needs to be
adjusted is if you notice that excessive pressure
is needed to drive V-nails into the frame without
triggering light, indicator light adjustment may be
needed.

1. Loosen hex nut securing depth cap screw
(see
Figure 32).

3. With a test workpiece in place, press top
clamp pedal down and verify V-nail depth
when indicator light illuminates (see
V-Nail
Size & Placement on Page 12).
IMPORTANT: Ensure depth cap screw can
contact limit switch. Failure to contact limit
switch may lead to excessive pressure on
pedal and driver components, which could
cause damage to the machine.
4. Adjust depth cap screw as needed to achieve
proper V-nail depth, and tighten hex nut to
secure setting.
2. Move depth cap screw up or down, depend-
ing on driver depth needed.
