Notes on Safety
This section handles the basic safety regula-
tions in working with the electric lawn trim-
mer.
During the use of the machine, the
notes on safety are to be consid-
ered.
General notes on safety
Before you work with the device,
make yourself familiar with all oper-
ating actuators. Practice handling
the device and have the function,
operation and working methods ex-
plained to you by a practiced user
or specialist. Make sure that you
can immediately shut off the device
in an emergency. Inappropriate use
of the device can lead to serious in-
juries.
Working with the electric lawn trimmer:
•
The device must not be employed by
children. In the same way, working with
the device is forbidden to persons who
have not got complete knowledge of the
operating instructions. Laws and local
stipulations can determine a minimum
age for use.
•
Keep the device away from people, par-
ticularly children and domestic animals
and interrupt your work if they come near.
Always keep a safety distance of 5 m
around yourself. Stones and gravel can
be thrown off, which can cause injuries.
•
Use suitable working clothes and per-
sonal protective equipment! Basically,
wear protective goggles or eye protec-
tion, protection for the ears, boots or
shoes with anti-slip sole and robust, long
trousers, as well as working gloves.
•
Pay attention to maintaining a secure
stance during work. Be especially cau-
tious while working on a slope.
•
Do not work with the device when you
are tired or after taking alcohol or medi-
cation. Always take a break in time.
•
Do not work in rain, bad weather or in a
moist environment. Work only if good
lighting is available.
•
Do not work with a device which is dam-
aged, incomplete or which has been al-
tered without the approval of the manu-
facturer. Never use the device with
defective protective equipment. Before
use, check the safety status of the de-
vice, in particular the power cable, the
switch and the protective covering.
The safety device and the personal
protective equipment protect your
own health and the health of others
and ensure trouble-free operation of
the device.

Hold the cutting line at a distance from all
parts of the body, particularly the hands
and feet, when you turn on the motor and
when the motor is running.
•
Do not start the device if it is in an in-
verted position or is not in working posi-
tion.
•
Disconnect the motor and pull out the
plug:When you are not using the device,
when you leave it unattended, when you
are cleaning it or transporting it from one
location to the other, when the current or
extension cable is damaged, when you
are removing or replacing the automatic
cutter, as well as when you are adjusting
the length of the cutting line by hand.
•
Do not carry the device by the cable. Do
not use the cable in order to pull the plug
from the plug socket. Protect the cable
against heat, oil and sharp edges.
