can cause injuries to persons and
irreparable damage to the device
and leads immediately to voiding of
the guarantee.
Wear work gloves during the replace-
ment of the cutting equipment, in or-
der to avoid cut injuries.
1. Pull the power plug.
2. Turn round the device so that the
cutter head is facing above.
3. The guard with the line reel is not
screwed on and is easy to remove.
Push both catches on the side of
the cutting head at the same time,
and remove the line reel with the
guard.
4. Remove the guard and carefully
clean it on the inside.
5. Insert the new spool coil into the
cover casing and insert the two line
ends through the line-outlet lug.
Ensure that the line ends do not
slide from the slots of the white
retaining ring on the spool.
6. Place the guard with the new reel
onto the cutting head. Make sure
that the catches fit exactly into the
notches on the cutting head. They
should then audibly click into place.
If this is not the case, twist the reel
by the approximately half an inch to
an inch, and place the guard back
onto the cutting head.
Check the line cutter. Do not employ
the device under any circumstances
without line cutter or with defective
line cutter. If the line cutting blade is
damaged or is broken off, it is abso-
lutely necessary that you refer to one
of our service stations.
Cleaning
Clean and maintain your device regularly. This
guarantees its performance capability and a
long life.
•
After every cutting procedure, clean
grass and earth off the cutting equipment
and the protective cover.
•
Keep the ventilation slots clean and free
from grass.
•
Clean the device with a soft brush or a
cloth.
•
The device must not be washed down
with water and neither may it be placed
into water.
•
Do not employ any cleaning agent and
solvent. They could damage the device
irreparably. Chemical substances can at-
tack the plastic parts of the device.
Storage
•
Clean the device and the accessories
carefully after every use (see chap. on
maintenance and cleaning). In this way
you can prevent the formation of mildew.
•
Keep the device in a dry and dustproof
location and out of the reach of children.
•
Do not store the trimmer for a long period
in direct sunlight.
•
Do not cover the device with plastic bags,
since this could generate humidity and
mold.
•
Do not place the device on the protective
cover. The best thing is to suspend it
from the upper handle so that the protec-
tive cover does not come in contact with
any other objects. The danger exists oth-
erwise that the protective cover will de-
form and dimensions and safety features
will thus change.
