Notes on cutting
A short or worn line cuts badly. There-
fore, in the case of reduced cutting
performance, check whether the line
spool still shows sufficient line. Pull
power plug when doing this! The re-
placement of the spool is described in
the Chapter “Replacement of the cut-
ting equipment”.
•
Before starting the device, make sure
that the cutter head does not come in
contact with stones, gravel or other for-
eign bodies.
•
Turn on the device before you approach
to the grass to be cut.
•
Cut the grass using an action where
you swing the device to the right
and to the left. Cut slowly and,
during the cutting, hold the device at
approx. 30° in front.
•
Cut long grass in layers, starting from
above and working down.
•
Do not cut any moist or wet grass.
•
Avoid the overstrain of the device during
work.
•
Avoid contact with solid obstacles
(stones, brick, paling etc.). The line will
wear itself away rapidly through that. Em-
ploy the edge of the protective cover in
order to hold the device at the correct
separation distance.
•
Avoid swinging over the extension cord
with the device still running. You could
damage it. You should always play out
the extension cord behind yourself.
Adjusting Nylon Line
Your device is equipped with a double line
with tap’n go automatic system, i.e. the two
lines are extended when tapping the cutting
head on the ground. If, at the beginning, the
lines should be longer than the cutting circle,
they are automatically shortened to the cor-
rect length by the blade of the line cutter.
Attention:
Clean the cutting blade from
grass and debris on a regular basis to avoid
any influence of the cutting effect.
Check the nylon line regularly if it is
damaged or if it still has the correct
length of 9 cm.
When cutting performance deteriorates:
•
Hold the running trimmer above a patch
of grass.
•
Tap the cutting head on the ground. Note
the fresh line will be advanced only of
line is still at least 2,5 cm.
If the line is shorter than 2,5 cm:
•
Switch off the trimmer and disconnect
plug from power supply.
•
Press in the spool an pull end of line
firmly outwards.
If end of line is not visible:
•
Replace the spool (see chap. “mainte-
nance and cleaning”.
Maintenance and
Cleaning
Pull the power plug before carrying
out any work on the device.
Have all work, which is not indicated
in these directions, carried out only
by service stations authorized by us.
Employ only original parts and note
the line cutter carefully during instal-
lation. Danger of injury!
Replacing line spool
Never manipulate the cutting equip-
ment, where you employ worn-out
original parts or OEM parts. Em-
ploy exclusively original spare
parts. Never employ metallic lines.
The use of such non-original parts
