Scorpion 4, 6 and 8
The arm must not come closer than 30 cm to the cabin.
The operator must pay close attention to the movements of the
arm, the arm can hit the driver's cabin.
4. Now the arm can be moved out to the position most suitable for driving with the
tool. Use the joystick and control panel to control the movements.
Always start with the tool hovering above the ground, and
preferably at a place where there is room for extra movement - to find the correct
PTO number of revolutions.
Starting up the tool
When the mower is in working position, the tool can be started up.
The tool is started up at a low PTO number of revolutions. Press
(the diode
lights up and the tool starts up).
Let the tool run without load until the oil is heated.
A very frosty machine should run 10- 15 minutes before any greater
load is applied to get warmed up and ready to work.
When the machine is warmed up, the correct PTO number of revolutions is found in the
following way:
(Remember to ensure freedom of movement around the vehicle and the
tool in all directions before you begin).
Tool start-up procedure
1. With the tool running and with a low number of revolutions on the PTO shaft, the
joystick is pulled back to lift the tool. The tool does NOT move because the
priority valve gives priority to the tool. This means that the tool absorbs all the
hydraulic oil supplied by the pump.
(If the tool requires 85 l/min, the pump must deliver at least 86 l/min before the
arm can be raised)
2. While holding the joystick back, increase the revolutions of the PTO until the arm
moves
3. Stop increasing the revolutions. Check the movements of the arm with the
joystick. You may carry out several movements at the same time.
Slowly increase the number of revolutions of the PTO until the movements of the boom
mower are smooth and even - this indicates that the correct minimum number of
revolutions has been found.
This number of revolutions provides the most comfortable driving,
efficient fuel saving and minimizes the heat of the hydraulic system.
Always handle the tool with care and caution, always use the
instruction manual of the tool.
