Consult planter monitor for alarms during planting.
Check that reported rates are consistent with your plan.
When reloading seed, check consumption against
anticipated use to that point.
Lift Assist Lock Channels
The lift assist lock channels
are used to hold the lift
assist cylinders extended to keep the lift assist raised.
Install the lift assist lock channels for transport and
during servicing.
To install:
1. Raise the hitched planter. Leave the tractor hitch and
implement lift circuits in neutral.
2. Remove the cylinder stops
from the cylinder
rod
.
3. Install the cylinder stops on the wire loop
.
4. Remove the L-pins
. Remove the lift assist lock
channels
from the mounting brackets
.
5. Install the lift assist lock channels on the cylinder
rods.
6. Install the L-pins in the lift assist lock channels to
keep the lift assist lock channels on the rods.
7. Lower the lift circuit. Set the circuit to float.
To remove:
1. Raise the hitched planter. Leave the tractor hitch and
implement lift circuits in neutral.
2. Remove the L-pins
. Remove the lift assist lock
channels
from the cylinder rods
.
3. Install the lift assist lock channels on the mounting
brackets
and install the L-pins.
First Pass Operation Checklist
Page
1.
Shutters set.
2.
Raise planter and line up at start of first
planting row.
3.
Prime meters with seed.
Leave fan running.
4.
Pull forward, lower planter, and begin planting
for a short distance.
5.
Stop. Assess:
•
planting depth
•
seed spacing
•
press wheel operation

6.
Make necessary adjustments
7.
Resume planting.
