Models with Wing Flex Option
On flex option models, the wings are allowed to flex up
and down to follow field contours. Every time the
machine is raised, wing flex cylinders must raise the
wings (gullwing the planter) to keep the openers from
dragging on the ground. See “
The down float stop
must be in the lowered position.
This allows the wing to flex down during field operation.
a. If down flex is not required, the operator can
rotate the down float stop up to the raised
position. Eliminating the down flex will speed-up
or eliminate the need to gullwing the planter
during field turn around. The down float stop can
safely and easily be rotated with the planter in
the folded position.
4. The outer wing lock pin should always be removed
from the storage location
and placed in the locking
location
for field operation. This pin locks the outer
wing frame and the extension frame together to hold
the wing frame level in the field.
5. The inner wing lock pin should remain in the storage
holder
. This allows the wing to flex up during field
operation.
6. The inner wing lock pin should remain in the storage
holder
. This allows the wing to flex up during field
operation.
a. If up flex is not required, the operator can place
the inner wing lock pin in the locking position
.
Eliminating the flex eliminates the need to
gullwing the planter during field turn around.
With the inner lock pin installed, weight from the
center of the planter can be transferred to the
wing.
b. On planters without lift assist:
If the inner lock pin is locked in position
do not
lock the fold circuit in the unfold position. during
field operation. This disables the gullwing
function. See “
