Operating Instructions

c. On planters with lift assist, if the inner lock pin is 

locked in position

, then close the 90° lock 

valve located on the right-hand wing flex 

cylinder. This disables the gullwing function 

during field operation of the lift assist. The 90° 

lock valve should be opened to fold or unfold the 

planter. or to resume normal gullwing function.

d. Up flex motion can also be limited by installing 

cylinder stops on the wing flex cylinders

. 

Install cylinder stops on the wing flex cylinder 

rods if you do not want the maximum up flex. 

Cylinder Stop Kits 810-423C are available, but 

not supplied with the planter. Generally the only 

reason to limit up flex is to reduce the time for 

the wings to return from the gullwing position to 

the planting position when the machine is 

lowered.

When folding 15” and 20” planters, the cylinder stops must be

removed from the wing flex cylinders to prevent damage to the
planter.
