Configuring Head Streaming
Configuring Head Streaming
When the multiviewer has been configured to use NMOS,
an NMOS controller is able to
remotely control the SMPTE ST 2110-20 head output streaming through IS-05. To enable NMOS,
see
Configuring the Kaleido - IP to use SMPTE ST 2022-6 / 2110 Inputs and ST 2110 Outputs
with NMOS , on page 90.
PREREQUISITES:
• Head streaming is a licensed feature. See Available Hardware and Software Options , on
page 75. Obtain the head streaming (
KIP-OPT-STREAMING-OUT
) license keys from
Grass Valley. See Grass Valley Technical Support , on page 124.
• The connected network must have a PTP grandmaster server clock on its domain.
• The Kaleido
- IP’s date and time setting must be set to use
PTP
. See Configuring a
Multiviewer’s IP, Date, and Time Settings with XAdmin , on page 33.
• To support SMPTE ST 2110-20 head streaming:
• SMPTE ST 2110-20 head streaming is a licensed feature. See Available Hardware
and Software Options , on page 75. Obtain the head streaming (
KIP - OPT - UCIP - OUT
and Rivermax license ) license keys from Grass Valley. See Grass Valley Technical
Support , on page 124.
• Optional multiviewer network ports LAN5 and LAN6 must be equipped on the
multiviewer to provide two high-speed network ports. See Kaleido - IP Multiviewer
Ethernet Port Usage , on page 23. For this, the Kaleido - IP must have two
KIP - OPT - ETH - 1X network interface cards installed. See Kaleido - IP X330/X130 PCI
network interface add-on card options , on page 77 for more information.
• Media ports
LAN5
and
LAN6
must be configured. See Configuring a Multiviewer’s
IP, Date, and Time Settings with XAdmin , on page 33. Uncompressed streams must
use LAN5 and LAN6 .
To configure head streaming
1 Open XAdmin. See Opening XAdmin , on page 55.
2 Install the head streaming license key (
KIP-OPT-STREAMING-OUT
) from Grass Valley.
See Enabling Options , on page 78.
Notes
• Even when the multiviewer’s display output is set to 4K output resolution,
the maximum streaming output resolution is HD (1920 × 1080p).
• For a multiviewer that has streaming for two heads, both heads must be
configured with the same resolution.
