Replacing the Battery
Do not change the battery while anything is
shown on the display. You must wait until the
unit falls asleep and the display is blank before
you remove the battery. If you remove the
battery while something is shown on the display,
the unit will lose that information from memory.
FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD
You must use one of the following
battery types:
Duracell
MN 604
Energizer
No. 522
Panasonic
6AM6X
Use of any other batteries than those specified
could affect the intrinsic safety of this unit.
To change the battery, remove the battery cover (2),
and put a new battery in place of the old one.
Replacing the Filter
The filter (25) is replaceable. See the Parts Drawing
on page 17. To replace the filter, do the following:
1.
Relieve the pressure.
To reduce the risk of serious injury whenever you
are instructed to relieve pressure, always follow the
Pressure Relief Procedure on page 4.
2.
Unscrew the swivel (3) from the inlet of the meter
housing.
3.
Remove the old filter (25) from its seat in the inlet
of the meter housing with an o-ring pick.
4.
Push the new filter (25) into the seat in the inlet of
the meter housing, and make sure it is properly
seated.
NOTE: Be sure to orient the new filter so that the
concave side of the screen is facing upstream.
5.
Screw the swivel (3) into the inlet of the meter
housing, and torque to 140 to 150 in-lb (15.8 to
16.9 N.m).
Valve Repair Kit
See the Parts List on page 16 and the Parts Drawing

repairing the valve with new parts from the Valve
Repair Kit, use all of the new parts. To replace the
parts, do the following:
1.
Relieve the pressure.
To reduce the risk of serious injury whenever you
are instructed to relieve pressure, always follow the
Pressure Relief Procedure on page 4.
2.
Remove the six screws (21) that hold the cover (1)
together, and open the cover.
3.
Remove the trigger (15) from the valve stem (18).
4.
Unscrew the valve seat (16), remove the valve
seat and valve stem (18) from the meter housing,
and pull the valve stem out of the valve seat.

the valve seat, and replace them with new o-rings.
6.
Discard the old valve stem (18), the spring (19),
and the three o-rings (20, 20, and 12) that are on
the valve stem.
7.
Apply lubricant to all new parts. Place the new
spring (19) in the new valve stem (18), push the
new valve stem (which comes with three o-rings
[20, 20, and 12] installed) back into the valve seat
(16), place the valve stem/seat/spring assembly
into the meter housing, thread the valve seat into
the meter housing, and torque to 140 to 150 in-lb
(15.8 to 16.9 N.m).
8.
Place the trigger (15) on the valve stem (18), put
the cover (1) together, thread in the six screws that
hold the cover together, and torque to 7 to 10 in-lb
