rs422: Enables the rs422 56k baud serial communication for interfacing with the m802 RCU.

midi: Enables the Protools PRE compatible midi remote control interface

ethernet: Enables the ethernet control port for remote control using the web browser control or
standalone control application. Additional configuration may be required in the ethernet setup
menu to correctly enable this feature.
16 - ethernet setup
Once you have set the remote control protocol to ethernet, the m108 TCP/IP settings should be config-
ured in the ethernet setup menu:
1. Scroll to the setup menu item #16 'ethernet setup' and press the EDIT encoder to enter ethernet
setup screen ('press to config')
2. A new menu will appear, with several fields to navigate (Note the available fields for editing
change depending on the ethernet mode selection)
3. Turn the EDIT knob to select the fields
4. The selected field will be displayed between an underline and overline and its brightness
intensified
5. Press the EDIT knob to enter edit mode for the selected field, which will be indicated with a bright
gradient background
The ethernet edit fields are:

mode: There are two modes of network operation available in the m108; auto (DHCP) and static.
Press and turn the edit knob to select between the two options. Press again to return to the menu.

Auto or DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) mode can be used when the net-
work is managed by a DHCP server. In this configuration, the m108 will automatically ne-
gotiate an IP address from the DHCP server and maintain the IP lease while the preamp
powered on with ethernet remote control enabled. Depending on the DHCP server and
its configuration, the m108 may or may not be issued the same IP address each time.
Most DHCP servers allow the user to configure assigned IP ranges as well as reserve spe-
cific IP addresses for unique MAC addresses. Refer to your DHCP server documentation
for this configuration information. For reference, the m108 registers itself with the DHCP
server with the Hostname “m108-DeviceID-DeviceName”. The following shows a m108
with Device ID = 2. The device name was not set by the user, so “GraceDesign” is used as
the default.

The static setting allows the m108 user to define a the unit's ip address manually. This op-
tion can be used on networks with or without a DHCP server. The static setting should be
