AUXILIARY AUDIO/VIDEO INPUT AND
OUTPUT
AUX AV IN
1 set on the front panel (AV1) for easy
connection of games consoles etc. The other
set AV2 is installed at rear of the unit.
NOTE :
Whilst the AUXILIARY input sockets
may be used with a variety of external units
already described in the manual. The use
with a bass guitar is NOT recommended, if
used damage may occur to the in built
speaker.
AUX AV OUT
There is one set of RCA sockets at the rear
of the unit marked AUX OUT. This allows the
audio signal generated by the XB16 to be
connected to a separate amplifier for further
amplification and the video signal to another
TV as source. Output level is 1 volt maximum.
SCART SOCKET
A scart socket is located at the rear of unit.
Via this scart socket you may feed /input a
VCR/DVD signal to XB16TV when function
is set at AV1. The video signal generated by
XB16 (TV, CDG or AV1/AV2) can also be
output to external TV/VCR etc
OPERATING THE RADIO
1. Unravel the FM Aerial wire located on the
rear of the unit.
2. Press the STANDBY switch to turn the
unit ON.
3. Set the Function mode to TUNER (TUNER
LED will illuminate).
4. Set the Band switch to the FM or MW
position.
5. Rotate the Tuning control until the desired
station is found.
6. Adjust the MASTER VOLUME control to
desired sound level. Press DBBS button
to increase bass if desired. Make sure to
set MIX control at mid-position and ECHO
to minimum.
OPERATING THE TAPE SECTION
IMPORTANT
The Cassette keys are covered by the
cassette key cover below the cassette
compartment doors. To operate the Tape
press the cassette key cover to unlatch the
cover.
Both deck A and deck B may be used for
playing back tapes. Only Deck A can be used
for recording of tapes:
Both tape mechanisms employ auto stop
facilities. This means that the tape and
mechanism will automatically stop only when
playing or recording tapes.
NOTE: When fast forward or rewinding a tape
press the STOP/EJECT key when the tape
has reached its end.
PLAYING CASSETTE TAPES
Both DECK A and DECK B mechanisms may
be used for playing back prerecorded
cassettes.
1. Press the STANDBY switch to turn the unit
ON.
2. Set the Function mode to TAPE (TAPE
LED will illuminate).
3. Press the STOP/EJECT key on either of
the cassette decks.
4. Insert a Pre-recorded cassette with the
exposed tape facing downward and the
full spool to the left.
5. Gently push the cassette door closed.
6. Press the PLAY key to start the tape
playing.
7. Adjust the VOLUME control as desired
and make sure that the MIX control is in
the central position.
8. The AUTO STOP mechanism will activate
when the end of tape is reached. Playback
may be stopped at any time by pressing
the STOP/EJECT key or the tape may be
temporarily stopped by pressing the
PAUSE key. Release the PAUSE key to
continue playback.
