Single conduit filter and double conduit filter with plastic filter cup

Type 500 ER... : Ventilation valve with connection hose:
For these single conduit filters with return supply, the piping can be vented during start-up by
activating the ventilation valve :
• Push the connection hose onto the nozzle, open the ventilation valve.
Once the filter element in the filter cup is surrounded by operating medium and there is
no more air escaping from the connection hose:
•
Close the ventilation valve firmly
• Remove the connection hose
If the fill level in the filter cup drops or it runs empty then there is a leak in the system.
SHUT-DOWN immediately!
Fuel oil consumer installations should be checked for perfect condition by a specialist
company, or specialist company under water law where applicable, before initial start-up.
Fuel oil consumer installations which do not satisfy the TRÖl requirements may not
be started up.
Filter cup partially filled
Air and volatile oil components can evaporate out of the operating medium from an air / gas
cushion in the filter cup and accumulate in front of the moistened filter element. Particular
attention should be paid to this when using single conduit filters and low flow rates. The
interior of the filter element, which cannot be seen, is however still completely filled with
operating medium so that a filter cup which is only partially filled with operating medium has
no effect on safe operation.

Operation of the shut-off fitting
The handwheel on the shut-off fitting is set to the OPEN position during ongoing operation
of the system. During extended shut-down periods or MAINTENANCE work, the handwheel
on the shut-off fitting is set to the CLOSED position.

MAINTENANCE
The following is recommended during the course of annual maintenance or after extended
SHUT-DOWN periods:
•
Leak testing of the filter including connections.
• Visual inspection of the plastic filter cup for possible damage, e.g. cracks or
deformations.
• Replacement of the filter element , see REPLACEMENT.
