Operation

• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Use of this machine requires safety goggles

and waterproof clothing

• Always use the pressure washer vertically and make sure it is used on a flat, level surface. The Wheel

Brakes (14) must be used on uneven surfaces

Fitting quick connector accessories and nozzles

• To fit quick connector accessories and nozzles to the Lance Quick Connector (24) pull down on the outer

body as shown in image D and push in one of the supplied accessories (25, 27 & 28)

Nozzles

Black: This low-pressure nozzle has to be fitted to mix and draw detergent from the detergent bottle and

creates a foamy solution ideal for cleaning.
Red: This nozzle provides a very high-pressure straight stream of water. It is the most dangerous nozzle

and should be used with caution. It can damage some surfaces and can also cause injury if the stream

accidentally contacts people or animals.
Green: This nozzle provides a general use wide pattern and should still be used with caution on surfaces.

Fitting the turbo nozzle

The Turbo Nozzle (30) creates a powerful spray in a circular pattern for very effective cleaning over larger

areas.
1. Remove the Lance section with the Quick Connector (24) by unscrewing Lance Connector (23) from

Lance Connector (19)

2. Fit the Turbo Nozzle to the Lance Connector (19)

Switching on

•  Always open the water supply tap before switching on to protect the pump from damage
•  Set the Trigger Lock (21) to prevent the Trigger (22) being pressed
•  Connect the pressure washer to the mains supply and turn the On/Off Switch (5) on. The pump operates

immediately to build up water pressure. Each time the Trigger is pressed and water is released, the

pump operates to restore water pressure

• It is important that all air is bled from the hoses and lance before using the pressure washer. Disable the

Trigger Lock and squeeze and hold the Trigger until water is sprayed in a steady stream. This may take

up to 2 minutes or possibly longer on first use

Using your pressure washer

IMPORTANT: It is recommended in most instances to start spraying a surface from a longer distance first

and move in closer if greater cleaning pressure is required. This is good practice for use with pressure

washers. A recommended minimum distance from the surface is approximately 150mm but some surfaces

will require a greater distance.
• To spray water, unlock the Trigger Lock (21) and squeeze the Trigger (22). Make sure you are holding

the lance securely as there will be a small recoil action on start-up

• The pressure washer will protect the motor from over-heating if used continuously for too long, and

will prevent the trigger from operating. It will reset after cooling for a few minutes. It is recommend to

have a work pattern that prevents the over-heating protection feature activating by not holding down the

trigger continuously

• If you are unsure of the durability of the surface that is being cleaned, avoid using the narrow jet red

nozzle, reduce the pressure and start washing further away from the surface

• It is recommended to hold the lance at an angle of 45˚ to the surface being cleaned. This will give

maximum control, and most effective cleaning

• Always test-clean an inconspicuous area first to check that the cleaning process or detergent will not

damage the surface being cleaned, particularly mortar between bricks or patio slabs, which can be easily

removed with a water jet

Using detergent

1. Remove the Detergent Cap (16) from the Detergent Bottle (9) and fill with a pressure washer

compatible detergent using a funnel if necessary. There are many products available that are suitable

for pressure washers including patio cleaner, glass cleaner, car shampoo, traffic film remover, wood

and plastic cleaning solutions, plus general purpose pressure washer detergent. Follow the detergent

manufacturer’s instructions with regard suitable use and diluting.

2. Fit the black Quick Connector Nozzle (25)
3. Once you have finished using detergent, fill the detergent container partly with clean water and hold the

trigger until the water becomes clear and the detergent bottle is empty and clean of detergent residue.

Swap the black Quick Connector Nozzle with another nozzle and operate the pressure washer to fully

ensure all detergent residue is removed

Notes:
• A typical pattern of use for using detergent foam would be to first clean with water to remove light surface

deposits, then apply detergent foam and, finally, rinse off with clean water

• Detergent foam requires a few minutes to work when applied to surfaces. Normally for maximum

cleaning leave 2-5 minutes between applying foam and removing with clean water – this is an ideal

opportunity to brush/scrub the surface where most dirt has collected. Do not allow foam to dry on the

surface; for instance, on a hot day, when there may be limited time between dispensing foam and rinsing

off, depending on the surface

• Do not use detergents which are not designed for pressure washers. They may contain chemicals that

could damage seals

• Read the instructions provided with the detergent thoroughly - especially if concentrated. Diluting to

the detergent manufacturer’s recommendations will ensure effective cleaning without using excessive

detergent

Switching off

When you have finished using the machine, always carry out the following steps:
1.  Switch off the machine and disconnect from the mains supply
2.  Turn off the water supply
3.  Squeeze the trigger and allow all residual water pressure to bleed
4.  Disconnect the water supply
5.  Drain all water from the machine and hoses, and store in a dry place
WARNING: Do not switch off the water supply before turning off the pump as the pump must not be run

without water.
WARNING: Never disconnect the high pressure hose at either end without depressurising first

Accessories

A range of accessories is available from your GMC stockist to enhance the functionality of your pressure

washer, including brushes and replacement or higher specification parts. Spare parts are available from

Maintenance

Cleaning

•  Keep your machine clean at all times
•  Always allow all water to drain from the pump before storing
•  The Quick Connector Nozzles (25) may get dirty or blocked over time which will effect operation. Clean

the lance nozzle using the Cleaning Pin (26). A garden hose can also be used to clean the nozzle by

back-flushing water through the nozzle. Combining use of the pin and back-flushing should enable the

nozzle to be fully cleaned. The frequency of doing this will depend on the water quality in your area with

hard water areas requiring more frequent cleaning.

• Regularly check the Water Inlet Connector (15) filter (image A) to make sure it is clear

Removing the detergent bottle

In normal use flushing the Detergent Bottle (9) should be satisfactory and it will not need to be removed.

However the Detergent Bottle may need to be removed if the flushing procedure has not occurred after

detergent has been used;
1. Remove the mains cable from the Mains Cable Bracket (12) then remove the four screws that secure

the bracket

2. Carefully lift the Detergent Bottle up and remove the detergent feed hose at the base and secure the

hose so that it cannot fall into the body of the pressure washer when disconnected from the Detergent
