Using a Terminal Program to Set MaxiMet Date and Time
As an alternative to using MetSet to set MaxiMet time which might add a delay to time setting as MetSet
saves settings (up to 60 seconds) then MaxiMet TIME can be set manually with potentially more accuracy
against a reference time as follows:.
1.
With the MaxiMet set and wired for RS232 or RS422 data two-way TX/RX communication via a
suitable converter, interface the MaxiMet to a PC running a terminal program.
2.
Open a terminal program e.g. Gill Wind software (note the Wind software Tools features are not
applicable) or Tera Term or Putty etc.
3.
Select the required COM port connection e.g. COM 39.
4.
Select the baud rate to match the MaxiMet setting (default 19200 baud).
5.
MaxiMet data should scroll on screen.

6.
Type * (asterisk) to set the MaxiMet to SETUP MODE.
7.
Type TIME and Press the PC Enter key to show the current date and time (and format).
TIME = 2017-06-01T15:25:00
8.
To set a new TIME choose a convenient Time in the future say 5 minutes ahead.
9.
Now Type in the new Date/Time in the following format:-
TIME 2017-06-01T15:30:00
(Year/Month/Day/Hours/Minutes/Seconds)
10.
Using a reference accurate clock/watch showing current time compare this to the time set above.
11.
When the two TIMES are matched press the PC Enter key to update the MaxiMet TIME to the
reference time.
12.
Type Q and press the Enter key to return the MaxiMet to Measurement mode with the updated
TIME reading.
