Address Assignment
The remote control address is assigned from the front panel of the instrument (see ADRS in
Section 2.2.3). The available range of addresses is 0 through 30.
Command Interpretation
The GT 9000 uses a 40-character buffer to accept and store characters sent to it through the
interface. Spaces are ignored. The buffer contents are interpreted and the buffer is reset upon
receipt of a character sent with the EOI line asserted or upon receipt of any of the following
delimiter characters:
< CR > < LF > , : ; / \
Multiple commands can be sent in a single message if they are separated from each other by a
space or one of the delimiter characters. Each command will be interpreted individually upon
receipt. If spaces are used to separate commands, care must be taken to assure that the
40-character buffer does not overflow. Buffer overflow can cause some commands to be ignored.
